  1. 1 cup Wheat or rice Vermicelli
  2. 2 cups Coconut milk
  3. 3/4 cup Coconut sugar
  4. 10-12 Candy cherries or tinned cherries
  5. 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  6. 1 tablespoon Ghee
  7. 1 tablespoon Cornflour or rice flour
  8. 10 Chopped cashews
  9. Candy cherries to garnish

Steps to make to make Semiya and Cherry Payasam

  1. First, slow roast the vermicelli and chopped cashews till light golden.
  2. Then add 1/2 cup regular water and cook covered till soft. Then add sugar, cherries and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Then mix cornflour in coconut milk and add it. Stir cook on low heat till thick. Remove before boiling.
