  13. 1/2 cup sugar
  14. Few drops of rose water or kewra water
  15. 2 tbsp chopped cashews
  16. 2 tbsp chopped almonds
  17. 2 tbsp raisins

Instructions to make to make Sweet Saffron Rice

  1. Boil 2 1/2 cup water in a thick bottom pan, add salt,2 cloves, 2 cardamom, 1 bay leaf, saffron, food colour and soaked rice. Give it a nice stir and cook till 3/4th done. Remove excess water and spread rice in a big plate.
  2. Now mix 1 cup of milk,1/4 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in a pan, give it a boil and keep this syrup aside.
  3. Heat tawa on medium flame. Place a non stick pan or a heavy bottom pan over it.
  4. Heat ghee, add cloves, cardamom, bay leaf and dry fruits and grated coconut, saute for few seconds.
  5. Now add milk and sugar syrup, give it a nice mix.
  6. Add cooked rice, remember we do not want to break rice grains so, mix it gently.
  7. Cover it with a lid and cook till all the moisture evaporates and rice also gets cooked properly.
  8. Garnish with some nuts and serve hot.
